In loving memory of Edward Marvin Pampell

Edward Marvin Pampell was born on September 14, 1926 in Loebau, Texas to Ernst Arnold Pampell and Agnes Pauline (Moerbe) Pampell. He was baptized on October 10, 1926 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau by Rev. Charles Durow and confirmed on April 28, 1940 also at Christ Lutheran Church by Rev. Herbert Hartfield. His confirmation verse was Genesis 17:1, “I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”

Eddie entered the United States Army at Fort Sam Houston on February 26, 1945. He served during World War II as a supply clerk. He was honorably discharged on November 11, 1946 at Fort Sam Houston having obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Eddie was united in marriage to LaVern Evelyn Rackel on Feburary 24, 1952 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau. To this union three children were born, Charles, Edward, and Virginia. Eddie and his wife owned and operated Edward Pampell Drywall in Houston for many years. He was a member of the Houston Home Builders Association, Gypsum Drywall Association, and the Giddings American Legion York Post 276.

Eddie enjoyed working and playing a good game of dominoes. Later in life you could find him tending his cattle or riding his tractor, which he did up until the age of 92. He loved watching his grandchildren fish and spending time with his family and friends.
Eddie passed away the afternoon of Sunday, April 4, 2021 in Giddings, with his wife by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernst & Agnes Pampell; his son, Edward James Pampell; his daughter, Virginia Kunkel, as well as nine brothers and sisters.

Eddie is survived by his wife, LaVern Pampell of Loebau; his son, Charles Pampell and wife Connie of Loebau; his daughter-in-law, Lynette Pampell of Loebau; his son-in-law, Calvin Kunkel of Loebau; nine grandchildren, Jason Pampell and wife Kim of New Braunfels, Misty Spacek and husband Bryan of Round Rock, Kali Montgomery and husband Keith of Giddings, Kasey Brooks and husband Joey of Cedar Creek, Christopher Pampell and wife Jennifer of Brenham, Tori Pampell of San Antonio, Buster Lee Pampell of Somerville, Ashley Kunkel of Giddings, and Chad Kunkel of Loebau; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Frances Lahrmann of Grapeland, and Garnett Pampell of Houston, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members, and friends.
